Finding things at the side of the road isn't that unusual. However, one motorist seems to have had a bit of a surprise find on the A82 just outside Glencoe village recently.
The SSPCA report that a passing motorist spotted an otter on the busy road and stopped to see if it was okay. But rather than running away, the otter ran towards the motorist.
Ask the locals and they'll tell you that otters aren't unusal, but they are very shy animals, and this type of behaviour is therefore very unusual. In fact, the SSPCA suspect that the otter may be tame due it being hand reared. So, has anyone lost a pet otter?!
The otter has been named Fyne and is currently at a wildlife rescue centre in Fife, and is likely to be relocated to the otter sanctuary on Skye in due course.
