Glencoe Mountain Resort have invited the wider membership of our humble marketing association to visit the centre and sample some of the activities on offer.
The open day, planned for next Wednesday (16th) will give local businesses the opportunity to sample for themselves the ride up the chairlift and see the stunning views across Rannoch Moor. For the more adventurous there's the chance to have a go at Archery, a new actvity for 2010, or perhaps get on a mountain bike.
However, as the centre gets ready for the summer season, they encountered a minor setback, with the recent theft of one of their fleet of downhill mountain bikes, Riders are being asked to keep their eyes and ears open for the missing bike in the hopes that it might be traced.
Here's a report from Glencoe Mountain Resort...
A £1500 Mountain bike was stolen from Glencoe Mountain Resort on Saturday. The bike, a 17" 2010 Kona Stinky Six, was on loan to the resort from bike manufacturer Kona as a demo bike for riders to try out on the black graded downhill track. The bike was stolen around 11am from the front of the main building where it was on a rack alongside some of the resort's 20 hire bikes. The resort was busy with bikers on their way to the Fort William World Cup and competitors taking part in the ‘70 Wild Miles' adventure race. The resort has posted information about the theft on its various social networking pages such as facebook and twitter in order to widen the search area.
Whilst the incident is unfortunate Glencoe Mountain Resort are still progressing with their current plans to increase the summer activities available at the resort, which already has chairlift accessed mountain biking and archery lessons on offer.
Anybody with any information about the theft, or being offered the bike, is urged to contact the police or the centre directly.
