Cleaning Up Glencoe

Thursday 29th April 2010

The staff at Clachaig Inn, Glencoe and Glencoe Independent Youth Hostel have once again volunteered to take part in an annual litter pick along the old village road as part of the businesses’ commitment to helping to keep Glencoe a clean and litter free place.

Litter pick team in Glencoe

The Highland Council helped out by giving signs, rubber gloves and bags along with the Claymore Garage in Glencoe village who supplied the team with safety gloves.

The litter pick started at the junction of the Old Village Road and the A82 at the new bridge and ended at the Green Pool at the forestry car park. They covered the verges all down the road side and popular picnic spots on the riverbanks too.

There were 7 people who took part in litter pick which took a little over an hour to complete. Thankfully the weather stayed reasonably dry for them during the clean up.

Here is to hoping that the old village road stays litter free.
